"Shocked and Delighted" drops Sept 18

Hey all! It took a hot minute but we have a new single ready for your ears. Months in the quarantine put me onto some newer (but classic) inspirations. You'll find elements of chillwave, dark pop, and 80's new wave in this one. Bands like Ride, Balance and Composure, and Cocteau Twins were a huge influence. We had some great people behind the boards: Andrew Dugan (Zound Factory, Baltimore MD) producing and engineering; and Ben Majchrzak (Native Sound, St. Louis MO) as master engineer. Ben's worked with the likes of Pokey LaFarge, Ian Fisher, and Vera Sola. Fun Fact: The owner of Native Sound is Father John Misty's Front-of-House engineer. Pretty cool company to be in.

As far as the sound of the song goes...surreal guitars swirl around you and drip like melted rocket pops. Drums explode like mishandled fireworks on July 4th. The bass rattles your heart like the anticipation of new love and possibility, over lyrics that paint a picture of a bittersweet elegy for the pseudo-summer. What it is and what it could have been. Excellent musical contributions by Kris Chinery (bass, synth) and Justin Tice (drums).

Hope everyone has a a great labor day weekend! Stay safe, and Follow us on Spotify to hear it first! Stay positive and thanks for all the love. -CF
